The Point & Click Fighter| Karate Survivor
A Dope Point & Click Fighter
Hey TVOS Family, how you been ? It’s yah boy TVOS Slade, and today we got a fun little indie too get into. It’s called Karate Survivor, and was developed by Alawar, studio’s it has a real old school feel with the retro bit aesthetics. Karate Survivor is on PS5, Xbox, Steam, and Nintendo Switch. I got the game on Steam. I found myself lost in the gameplay for hours, turning my brain off trying too survive the countless waves of enemies. I’m not gonna lie, when I got into my first fight thought I wasn’t going too enjoy the point and auto combo style of gameplay, but I really enjoyed it.
Anybody pushing 30 and played cool math like me during class, you might remember a little game called Johnny Upgrade, in that game you was rewarded on how far you could get into the level without dying. The same concept applies in Karate Survivor, which surprised me. You start out in the game very weak, but you have much in your repertoire just waiting too be unlocked. Smacking enemies with brooms, throwing bottles, kicking your enemies as you slide across tables, vaulting over windows too get a quick breather or escape a pinch. You have a lot waiting for you once you put in the time too upgrade your Karate survivor and it’s worth it. The amount of times i got myself out a pickle by just vaulting through a window, or just spamming back and forth across the tables, is addicting, just brain dead fun.
Stat Tree
I now have all 4 stars in strength by the time you read this !
Now I don’t wanna downplay the mechanics of the game calling it completely brain dead, there are some mechanics in the game, that makes smacking those brutes easier. The moves your fighter can perform are colored coded, and if you chain the same color together you get a damage boost. So there’s a little thinking required lol. Keep moving, don’t stop, and catch that random hobo running around. You’ll understand what I’m saying once you play the game.
Surrounded By Enemies = Death
I hope you notice the same color attack bonus!
Too conclude I enjoyed my time playing Karate Survivor, the simplistic beauty of smacking thugs, and brutes with auto combos never gets old! Upgrading your Survivor, and watching him grow stronger as the fight goes on is very satisfying. Makes you feel like your cultivating him up too be the Karate Master he needs too be ! Must Play! TVOS Stamp of Approval!
